Role & Responsibilities
As a DevOps Engineer at Google – Wrocław, Poland, you will play a critical role in managing, optimizing, and scaling cloud infrastructure for enterprise systems. You will ensure high availability, reliability, and security of applications while supporting development teams with automation and operational best practices.
Infrastructure Management
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure for enterprise applications on GCP (Google Cloud Platform), AWS, or Azure.
- Manage servers, virtual machines, containers, and cloud resources to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Perform capacity planning and scaling strategies to handle increasing workloads and global traffic.
- Maintain configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Automation & CI/CD
- Develop Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines to automate software deployment and testing.
- Use tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD to streamline build and deployment processes.
- Ensure that deployments are repeatable, reliable, and fast while minimizing downtime during updates.
- Implement automated testing, monitoring, and rollback strategies for mission-critical applications.
Monitoring & Performance Optimization
- Monitor system health using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Stackdriver to proactively identify issues.
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in servers, databases, and application services.
- Analyze logs and metrics to improve system reliability, optimize resource utilization, and reduce costs.
- Implement alerting and incident response workflows to ensure rapid resolution of issues.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce best practices for cloud security, identity & access management (IAM), and network security.
- Ensure data protection compliance according to GDPR and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement mitigations to prevent security breaches.
- Collaborate with security teams to design secure deployment pipelines and monitoring systems.
Collaboration
- Work closely with software developers, QA engineers, product managers, and IT operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Provide guidance on infrastructure best practices to development teams.
- Participate in cross-team troubleshooting and incident management.
Agile Environment
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Document infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and operational procedures for knowledge sharing.
