As a Live-in Caregiver / Home Support Worker in Canada, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive personal care, health assistance, and emotional support to elderly, disabled, or chronically ill clients. This role is live-in, which means you will reside with your client, ensuring continuous care, safety, and comfort. The position requires patience, compassion, professionalism, and practical caregiving skills to support clients in maintaining their independence and quality of life.
Your daily work will involve not only assisting with physical needs but also offering companionship, emotional support, and guidance, helping clients feel secure and valued. You will also communicate regularly with family members and healthcare professionals to report on client progress and needs, ensuring holistic care.

- Assist clients with bathing, showering, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Help with dressing, grooming, and hair care, ensuring clients feel confident and comfortable.
- Support toileting and incontinence care with dignity and respect.

- Assist clients with walking, transfers, and exercises to maintain physical health and independence.
- Provide support for clients using mobility aids like walkers, wheelchairs, or canes.

- Prepare and serve balanced, nutritious meals tailored to the client’s dietary restrictions or health requirements.
- Assist with feeding if necessary, ensuring proper portion sizes and hydration.

Medication and Health Monitoring:
- Administer or remind clients about medications, vitamins, or treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor vital signs, blood pressure, sugar levels, and general health conditions.
- Report any changes in health or behavior to family members or healthcare professionals.

- Provide companionship, engaging in conversations, reading, or recreational activities to reduce loneliness.

Requirements
- Candidates must be between 21–45 years old. This ensures physical capability to perform caregiving tasks, mobility support, and live-in responsibilities.
- Basic English communication skills are required to effectively interact with clients, document care activities, and report observations to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Ability to understand instructions, follow routines, and communicate needs clearly is essential.
- Knowledge of French can be an added advantage for positions in Montreal or bilingual households.
- 1–3 years of prior experience in caregiving, home support, or nursing is preferred.
- Experience can include caring for elderly, disabled, or chronically ill clients, assisting with daily activities, and handling medications.
- Candidates must be physically fit to assist clients with mobility, lifting, and exercises.
- Must demonstrate patience, compassion, and emotional resilience to provide continuous care and support.
- Willingness to relocate to Canada and live-in with clients for the duration of the contract.
- Flexibility to adapt to the client’s household schedule, routines, and specific care requirements.
- Ability to adapt to Canadian culture, lifestyle, and work environment.
- Understanding and respecting local laws, customs, and workplace norms is crucial for a smooth experience.
