Role & Responsibilities
As a Caregiver or Home Support Worker in Canada, you will play a vital role in providing personal care, health assistance, and emotional support to elderly, disabled, or chronically ill clients. 🔹 Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Personal Care Assistance
- Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their privacy, dignity, and comfort at all times.

- Help clients with mobility and transfers, including moving from bed to wheelchair, chair, or bathroom.

2. Mobility & Exercise Support
- Encourage and assist clients in light physical exercises or physiotherapy routines prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Support muscle strength, balance, and flexibility, reducing the risk of falls or injuries.
- Monitor clients during exercise to ensure safety and correct execution.
3. Nutrition & Meal Preparation
- Prepare healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals according to dietary needs, allergies, or medical restrictions.
- Assist clients with meals as needed, ensuring proper hydration and nutrition.
- Monitor food and fluid intake and report any concerns regarding appetite or dietary issues to family or supervisors.
4. Medication & Health Monitoring
- Administer or remind clients to take medications or treatments as prescribed by doctors.
- Maintain accurate medication logs and report any missed doses or reactions immediately.
- Monitor vital signs, health conditions, and behavioral changes, reporting concerns promptly.
5. Emotional Support & Companionship
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and social engagement to reduce loneliness and improve mental well-being.
- Engage clients in recreational, cognitive, and social activities suitable for their abilities.
- Offer reassurance during stressful or emotional situations with patience and empathy.
6. Home Safety & Environment Maintenance
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized living environment for clients.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and sanitizing living spaces.
- Identify and prevent potential hazards, ensuring the client’s safety at all times.
- Respond efficiently to emergencies and unexpected situations with calm professionalism.
7. Communication & Documentation
- Maintain regular communication with family members, healthcare professionals, and supervisors regarding client progress.
- Keep detailed daily care logs and progress reports including activities, health updates, and behavioral observations.
- Report emergency events, medication issues, or unusual behavior promptly to ensure timely action.

Requirements
