About Recruitment

Indian Army Agniveer recruitment is for short-term (4-year) tenure with the possibility to extend or regularize in Army based on performance. Selected candidates serve in various arms and services:

🔹 Major Roles & Responsibilities:
General Duty: Guard, patrolling, operations
Technical: Maintenance of vehicles, weapons, equipment
Clerk / Tradesman: Administrative tasks, office work, stores management
Field Work: Training, operations, exercises, and deployments
Team coordination, discipline maintenance, and following Army protocols
🔹 Work Environment:
Outdoor field duties, physical training, camps, and operational areas
24/7 discipline and shift-based work during deployment
Exposure to modern military technology and teamwork

  • Gen: 10,500, OBC: 7,500, SC: 5,000, ST: 2,000

Selection Process

  1. 🔹 Stage 1: Online Application / CBT
  2. Objective type exam
  3. Subjects: General Knowledge, Mathematics, English, Reasoning
  4. Marks: 100–150 (depending on post)
  5. Duration: 45–60 min
  6. 🔹 Stage 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  7. Running, Push-ups, Sit-ups, High Jump / Long Jump (post dependent)
  8. Standard:
  9. Male: 1.6 km in 6 min
  10. Height: 170 cm
  11. Chest: 81 cm (expanded 5 cm)
  12. 🔹 Stage 3: Medical Examination
  13. Complete medical fitness required
  14. Eye sight, hearing, and general health check
  15. 🔹 Stage 4: Merit List & Final Selection
  16. Based on CBT + PFT + Medical

PET / Physical Standards

  • Male: Height 170 cm minimum, Chest 81 cm (5 cm expansion), Running 1.6 km in 6 min
  • Female: Height 157 cm minimum (posts dependent), Running: as per post
  • Medical fitness mandatory

Age Relaxation

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation.
  • SC / ST: 5 years relaxation.
  • PwBD candidates: Relaxation as per government rules and recruitment notification.
